From the New York Times:
President Obama posted a copy of his “long form” birth certificate, hoping to finally end a long-simmering conspiracy theory among some conservatives that he was not born in the United States and was not a legitimate president.
The birth certificate, which is posted online at the White House website [PDF], shows conclusively that Mr. Obama was born in Honolulu, Hawaii, and is signed by state officials and his mother.
Now may we PLEASE talk about something else?
Sometimes we get a little obsessive, don’t we?
I hope there won’t be any identity fraud with all this personal information of his floating around. Tee hee.
A sensible suggestion.
This entire birth certificate debate is stupid because it undermines what politicians should be debating: policy. I’m happy the birth certificate debate can finally be over.
How silly! I think Obama is the best president in many years. Much better than his predecessor! Obama is very popular in my country.
Excuse me, I’m certainly not “talking” about this crap. Nor is anyone I meet on a daily basis. This is corporate media crap being shoved in our faces.
There’s a simple solution. Turn off your TV and clear your mind.
I’m happy for you, Dan. I actually know real people who say, “Where there’s smoke, there’s fire.” If “they” keep talking about it, there MUST be something to it. Sure it’s fueled by the media and media hogs such as Donald Trump, but there are people who believe it, maybe because they WANT to believe it, for whatever reason.
BTW, did you see The Daily Show with Jon Stewart re this? http://thomwade.wordpress.com/2011/04/28/believe-it-or-believe-it-obama-releases-long-form-birth-certificate-the-daily-show-with-jon-stewart-042711-video-clip-comedy-central/
In passing (his) I find it hard not to think that the killing of Osama Bin Laden hasn’t been staged so as to give Obama a boost in the ratings just in time for him to be successful in the coming elections. The whole thing is staged by idiots, all the more so because they expect us to believe this obvious rubbish.
